Design stages of preparing a Multimedia Project.

Do you remember a post a made weeks ago about multimedia projects? Well, now its time to elaborate more on it. Today I will provide further information regarding to multimedia projects and their design.

Multimedia is the use of several media to present information. It may include videos, photos, text, graphics and animation.
Multimedia projects play an important role in the teaching process. These kinds of projects help students cooperate with each other, solve problems, integrate with new technology tools and so on. 

There are some stages of multimedia projects:

1) Pre- production ( you determine the purpose of the project).

2) Production( Include the necessary information, photo, video, animations etc).

3) Post-production ( Revise and you are ready to present).

But how can we create a project that catches everybody's attention? The first thing we should decide is the topic. We should have a plan how to do a well-organized project; what information should be included, examples, photos, videos and animations. These details can help us attract others people attention. After we decide the topic, the template, photos and so on, then its time to choose the design. Design is quite important to make the projects special and eye-catching. 

•The title should be in bold and in a bigger size that the rest of the text. The title is important to be noticed by everyone. If possible, choose to write the title with colours or in capital letters to make it more visible.

• Paragraphs should be divided from one another. Is better to not choose too long sentences that may confuse the readers.

•When you choose the template, make sure it is related to the subject. For example: if you are presenting a project about literature, choose a template that include books and authors. 

•About graphics, they can be placed on the side of the text, above it or below it.

Presentation programs: when it comes to present a project, PowerPoint isn't the only program available. There are plenty of programs that can help you make your project unique. You can choose other programs such as: Canva, Genially etc. Canva is my favourite one because you can choose between hundreds of templates that may be related to the subject. It has colourful slides, background, details that makes everything perfect. Genially is similar to Canva too. These programs can help everyone attract the public attention. As a future teacher, I'll make sure to use these new technological tools to grab the whole class attention 😄.

There are some other things that we should keep in mind while creating a project:

• Don't use light text on dark background in order to help the readers comprehend the information easier.

• Don't use dark text on light background ( once again used for comprehension purposes).

• Highlight the key words so the audience can understand the new words that are important to keep in mind.

• Don't use red background. The colour red can confuse everyone and is difficult to read.

• Avoid long sentences.

• Don't include unnecessary information.

• Use photos, videos, animation to make the project interesting and unique.

• Keep sentences short and easy to read.

• Use consistent background and text colours.

Remember: before you start creating a multimedia project you must follow some stages:

• Determine the purpose.

• Identify the target audience.

• Storyboard the content.

• Choose the design.

• Add the necessary information, photos, videos, illustrations etc.

• Revise if you have included everything that is important.

• Then you are ready to present it.
