Technology & Innovation

I'm sure we all are going to have fun while interacting with each-other. Through this blog, we are going to share different ideas, opinions, information and as a result we will learn many things that maybe we didn't knew before. 

We all know that our society is changing everyday and through technology we can adapt to these changes. Technology plays an essential role in our daily life but we can use it as well in our classes. It is a powerful tool that help teachers to improve their teaching methods and can bring innovation which is crucial in the teaching process.

But what are some other benefits of using technology in classes? The first one, is related to the fact that children, pupils or students can be excited for new things. Is important to get their attention and make them focus on a particular subject. Sometimes books can be boring and the student's motivation is low. In order to change that and to make them feel interested, we can use technology as a way to engage them with learning. Beside that, pupils can become more creative. Technology has a wide range of programmes which they can use to gain new knowledge. 

Another positive side of using it in classroom is that adapts spontaneous learning. Learning by heart needs to stop. Traditional teaching needs to be over. Being a teacher doesn't only mean having good professional skills. Teaching is more than that. Is being patient with your students, teaching them different skills that they can use to observe things on their own and creating a warm environment when they feel free to express their opinions or ideas. It means finding ways how to make pupils or students interested, and through technology we can achieve that.

From the first lecture, I learned that teaching how to use technology in the right way, can bring effectiveness. Basically, technology should not be used as a way to distract pupils but should be used as a warm up at the beginning of the lesson; for example: showing photos or videos that are related to the topic of the lesson or playing games that are fun and exciting for the class. As well, it can be used to show meanings of new words that pupils don't comprehend. By watching videos, they can easily learn new phrases and expand their vocabulary. In a few words, before we decide to use technology in class, we should know how to use it, which are its benefits and how can we manage to avoid negative sides of it.

Teaching is an art. It brings innovation, knowledge, motivation and helps everyone to interact and socialize with each- other. Is a duty which requires a lot of responsibility. It means finding the right methods to use, keeping motivation in class and finding new ways to keep the pupils interested; of course by using technology :)
